The Official Bee Blog

So many interesting things have happened already. For example on speller got realschule (German secondary school) - a word one speller got back in 2011 then got it again this year.

I can't post much, since I'm at school, but I'm in a class that I have all my lessons finished with.

Good luck spellers! This is going to be a great week!

Results

The Bee is great so far, but I can't watch for long. I'll watch the replays when I get home from school after homework and after my school's music concert.

"Keep Calm and Spell On"

Tomorrow, you will be facing the lights, cameras, and audience tomorrow, but do not worry. All you need to do is block out all the distractions around you, and focus on the word. Make sure you look presentable and clean, because you will be in front of the cameras. Do not bite your nails, run your fingers through your hair, etc.

When you get your word, make sure you ask the questions you can ask. This year, if you misspell in Round 2 or 3, you will be eliminated from the Bee. The top maximum fifty spellers will move on to semifinals. The total score is 36 (from the test), and when no more than fifty spellers are announced, the others will be eliminated.

The rules have changed since last year: If you misspell a word, the bell will not ring, but Dr. Bailly will provide the correct spelling for you. Each word spelled correctly in these rounds are three points.

No more than fifty spellers will be named semifinalists.

For the Anonymous Commenters on My Blog

I have not looked back on a lot of those "old" posts for a long time; they really do contain a lot of words that were used at the Bee in the past and many that will be used at the Bee in the future!

I should go back to checking on those posts, because they contain a lot of valuable information!
